Flixonase

fluticasone propionate

Product Overview

Flixonase contains the corticosteroid fluticasone propionate (FP) and is available as Aqueous Nasal Spray containing 50µg FP, Allergy Nasal Spray containing 50µg FP per actuation (available without prescription) and as Flixonase Nasule Drops (400µg per container).

FlixonaseAqueous Nasal Spray is indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (including hay fever) and perennial rhinitis in adults and children over 4 years of age.

Flixonase Allergy Nasal Spray is indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of allergic rhinitis including hay fever and that caused by other airborne allergens such as house dust mite and animal dander in adults aged 18 years and older. Flixonase Nasule Drops are indicated for the regular treatment of nasal polyps and associated symptoms of nasal obstruction in adults and adolescents over 16 years of age.

Recommended Dosages

Flixonase Aqueous Nasal Spray

  • Adults and children over 12 years: 2 sprays into each nostril once daily. The maximum daily dose should not exceed four sprays into each nostril.
  • Children (4–11 yrs): 1 spray into each nostril once daily. The maximum daily dose should not exceed two sprays into each nostril.

Flixonase Allergy Nasal Spray

  • Adults (18 years and over): 2 sprays into each nostril once daily. The maximum daily dose should not exceed four sprays into each nostril.

Flixonase Nasule Drops

  • Adults and adolescents over 16 years: Contents of one container instilled once or twice daily (the dose divided between affected nostrils- approximately 6 drops per nostril).

Systemic effects of nasal corticosteroids may occur, particularly at high doses when used for prolonged periods.
